Bericht van Niels san

Op verzoek van Niels Viveen plaats ik onderstaand bericht, lijkt mij een prachtige reis om een keer te gaan doen. Oor de reis van dit jaar zijn nog een paar plaatsen over.

i am looking for people who are interested in doing a Japanese Distillery tour organised by me from July 19 - August 3 or 11 (optional)

The tour will take about two weeks, as I don`t want to rush people and will also include some visits to specialist Whisky stores in Japan.

The distilleries that we`ll visit in Japan will be (In Order):

Yoichi (Yoichi, Hokkaido) (Nikka Whisky)
Miyagikyou (Aoba, Sendai, Honshu) (Nikka Whisky)
Shinshu (Miyada, Nagano, Honshu) (Hombo Shuzou, Mars Whisky)
Hakushu (Hakushu, Nagano, Honshu) (Suntory Whisky)
Fuji Gotemba (Fuji, Kanagawa, Honshu) (Kirin Whisky)
Chichibu (Chichibu, Saitama, Honshu) (Chichibu, Hanyu, Karuizawa, Kawasaki etc)
Chita (Chita, Nagoya, Honshu) (Suntory (Grain Whisky))
Yamazaki (Yamazaki, Kyoto) (Suntory)
the above distilleries are confirmed. I confirmed Chichibu personally with the owner, as it`s not always possible to visit them. Possible also on the list is White Oak, but they stopped offering tours when the rumours about Cain spirit in their blend started between LWDM and LMDW in France. I`m working on that.
We`ll be visiting all active distilleries in Japan this way. I am aiming to keep everything around E2000, including Business hotels in Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo and Osaka, 2 week Japan Rail Pass (free trains on most tracks in Japan including High Speed rail) and a flight from Schiphol (amsterdam) to Sapporo and back from Osaka.

The holidays I organise are always non-profit, the hotels are affordable and clean (no 5 star nonsense, more money left for Whisky). I have been organising holidays to Japan sing 2000. Please note that I may no longer be able to help out from July 29 because I have other obligations in Japan from July 30 till at least August 5.

Dit is echt een koopje, zeker vergeleken met de kosten die wij gemaakt hebben voor onze trip naar Japan.

Had via Emalt al van dit initiatief gehoord, denk dat het zeker de moeite waard is. Maar voor mij nu even niet weer...
